Isaias Garza, a former teacher at the ExCEL school in Bridgeton, was found guilty by a Cumberland County jury on October 3, 2025 of sexually assaulting a sixth-grade student at the school in 2004 and 2005, and of witness tampering and bribery. On March 6, 2026, he was sentenced to 14 years in New Jersey State Prison.
