Elena Bardin, an English teacher at the Adair juvenile detention center in Kentucky, was convicted by a jury in September 2025 of sexual abuse, unlawful transaction with a minor and distribution of obscene material to a minor involving a juvenile held at the facility. She was acquitted of solicitation of murder and was sentenced in November 2025 to 14 years in prison.
