Daniel Carlson, a former Mayfield Middle School teacher and girls' track coach, pleaded guilty in March 2022 to 14 charges including pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, compelling prostitution, extortion and importuning. The charges involved soliciting images from girls aged 14 to 17, some of them his former students or athletes. On April 19, 2022 he was sentenced to 10 to 13.5 years in prison.
