Pierce, a teacher and basketball coach at Seaman High School in Topeka, pleaded guilty in January 2022 to a federal child pornography charge for impersonating a minor female on social media and enticing minors to send him sexually explicit images and videos. On September 22, 2022, he was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
