Christopher Harris Speights, a permanent substitute teacher at Bradbury Heights Elementary School in Capitol Heights and a youth basketball coach, pleaded guilty in federal court to production and attempted production of child pornography. Prosecutors said one image was produced while he chaperoned a Bradbury Heights fifth-grade class trip, and that some victims were students at the school. On July 17, 2018, U.S. District Judge Paul W. Grimm sentenced him to 35 years in federal prison, followed by lifetime supervised release.
